Is it too late to become an acrobat?

acrobats
lepetitdejeuner asked:

I went to Vegas with my friend and we saw this Cirque du Soleil show, which was absolutely amazing. There were all these acrobats that did amazing things, and I would love to be one of them. I’m 21, and I feel like it’s too late for me to be one of them. Isn’t this something that people start doing at the age of 5? I it’s not too late, where do I train to be one?

it is never too late! You can sign up for circus training sessions everywhere nowadays! People who train from an early age have an advantage however you will be able to do tricks if you put your mind to it. You are still young anyway so you will be able to perform.

It is probably too late for you to become a professional acrobat, but that does not mean you can’t learn it and get good at it. Circus artists train daily for years, and usually start at a very young age. There are a lot of recreational circus schools that offer classes for adults, as well as colleges that train professional artists, who are already at a very high level when they reach your age. Depending on your fitness level, strength, and flexibility, as well as your dedication, you could become quite good at any circus art, but your chances of being a part of Cirque Du Soleil are very slim.
