Which acrobat version allows us to write over the pdf document?

Hi. I used to have an acrobat installed on my computer that allowed me to edit the text on a pdf document. The one I currently have is Adobe Acrobat Professional, but whenever I try to edit the text, it appears as a comment, and the document does not change. Which version of Acrobat do I need to edit the text?

try importing it into open office maybe.

    i know it exports them

BUT the pdf your eding maybe read-only enabled.. so you can’t edit it, if it’s from someone else.

    Adobe Acrobat & Acrobat Professional
Adobe Acrobat can be used to both view and manipulate PDF files. It can be used to completely repurpose PDF files (add multimedia elements like sound and video, add clickable buttons,…). For basic editing, it allows you to do the following:

Delete pages, change their order or rotate them.
Drag and drop pages from one PDF file to another.
Change the size of pages (make them smaller, not larger).
Modify text within a PDF. The ‘TouchUp Text’ tool is limited as text will not reflow if you add or delete a couple of words.
Acrobat can also be linked to applications like PhotoShop and Illustrator so you can also edit bitmap and vector objects within a PDF file.

The version you have should work, any version of acrobat (not acrobat reader) will work. It is posable to make a PDF that can’t be edited, which may be what you have. If it was scanned in or something acrobat looks at the whole thing as an image and can’t find the text. If thats what it is, an image editor like photoshop may be more helpful.

adobe is quite clever. they allow the reader for free, but the software (originally called “adobe distiller”) used to MAKE pdf files is quite expensive.

There are inexpensive alternatives - why not search them on google.

    Make Simple Text Edits

In this exercise, you will learn how to make minor text changes
like correcting a misspelled word or adding a few words using the TouchUp Text tool. If extensive revisions are required, edit the document in its original application and then re-create the PDF file.

The TouchUp Text tool is located on the Advanced Editing toolbar. If you do not find it at the top of the Acrobat window, right-click on the toolbar, and select Advanced Editing Toolbar from the menu.
