Adobe Photoshop is a different matter altogether…and it an awesome program……HUGE…..but awesome…

Updater = updates Adobe programs like Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.

Acrobat = application that edits PDFs. It can also read PDFs.

Reader = application that can only read PDFs.
